Mick is a 5-year old German Shepherd mix from the Lewis & Clark Humane Society in Helena. Mick enjoys working (training) for food, climbing, and taking long walks. He also loves to chase cats and squirrels. He can be selectively reactive to certain dogs, some men, and is not fond of fast moving cars or humans.
Mick loves to cuddle and receive affection. He has a lap dog temperament in the body of a Shepherd. He is most relaxed when receiving kisses on the forehead or in the middle of a snuggle pile. Mick quickly falls into a predictable and comfortable routine. If conditions change suddenly, he is noticeably on alert until he feels comfortable again.
We hope to work on scent detection together. He seems primed for this kind of activity. He’s alert and ready for outdoor activities. He is a natural explorer, has good vision, and olfactory senses.
He is also tuned into his trainer. If you are upset he will sit next to you, calmly. Mick is most comfortable with a few reliable, predictable people and minimal interaction with other animals. He seems to most enjoy the company of children and women.
